Coffee Shops and Writing; My Unspoken Love Story
I started writing in 2008, so long ago that coffee shops were a matter of luxury, and carrying an iPad or a Laptop along was not a thing. I used to write in my hostel room, alone and in the silence of nights, thanks to our single accommodations in the hostel in MBBS. So many scribbled stories that never found their outcome then. So many notes on my phone, still trying to find their way out in public.
Promised myself then that I won't stop writing ever. But the accompanying silence was withdrawn after MBBS and came in the company of people, of flatmates, of family, and of my own clobbered mind. It's disturbing and distracting at the same time. I have always been in awe of people who can do their creative stints in the midst of all the chaos. Pure Magic! Me? I create chaos in my head then😅.
So, from a weekly writing ritual to doing it only when I can find solace became my new way. Mind you, the solitude comes rarely to people like me who are social and have acquaintances with people, even at the restaurant where we used to eat every fortnight.
From being a non-caffeine person to being a coffee lover for the clarity and love of the vibe, I have become a coffee shop writer like so many other members of our clan.
