Emotional Pandemonium!!

They say “It’s all in the eyes.” And I see pallor n icterus in them. They say, “The heart thumps at their sight.” And I elicit Tachycardia n Tachypnoea. What a general person considers a sentiment, we find an eccentric way to look at it. Yes! We are Medicos (and Proud to be one for sure). But that doesn’t defy us from any of those amazing emotions coz at the end we are Humans too…

When words fall short, the eyes indeed play a willful role. Even if trying to hide melancholy on speech, a true confidante perceives our need to speak to him/her. When that one person throws a glance, the heart catch holds of the signal and begins to dance with joy. That’s when we feel the thuds on the chest. A sudden flashback of mom caressing you and giving her warmth, gives a mixed itch of smile and frown. That moment when your sibling got that extra edge for which he/she was acknowledged, swells the thorax with pride. That particular idiot who threw ink on you and you feel that anger surge so strong that you want to hit him then and there. These moments, these feelings… Does any medico or for that matter any professional know why this happens??? What makes our encephalon understand them??? At least I am ignorant about it. (I am not going into the scientific basis of it at all)

But a life without them is so unimaginable. Presume there are no emotions. Would we connect to anyone??? Would we be ‘elated’ on finishing exams??? Would we be ‘dreaded’ for results??? Would we have that element of ‘fun’ existent??? Would we ‘cry’ or ‘laugh’??? Won’t we end up with the plastic facies??? The facial nerve will have so less a work to do. Most of the facial muscles will end up in disuse atrophy coz they would have nothing to do except cover up the bones. There will be no heart pounding n no wet eyes. The World will seem more like a ROBOTIC chaos. Coz then without the expression, we’ll look exactly like Androids with the blood gushing. Or may be Zombies  :D :D

Feelings… whether anger, elation, joy, grief, love, sadness…any of these… are and should be like the vitals for life. This is a gifted ability to express oneself and let the other know what we feel. That’s how life advances. For those who are still in-expressive, I say, go ahead a give that articulation to yourself. Life becomes easier and amusing. And for those who have lost a reason to be expressive, look around, you may surely find yet another strong reason to smirk.

  1. What an amazing post !!

This post reminds me of the Student - Dr Asthana faceoff in Munnabhai movie :D

Doctors certainly do have emotions and you are a living example of it :P ( or may be because you are a girl :P )

I am pretty much sure that no matter how professional you guys become in future - You guys will be tensed or full of emotions when you perform an operation on your dear ones !

Emotions are so much necessary in our lives that sometimes we remember certain incidents by what type of emotions we displayed at that time .

I still remember that tears that flowed down when Dhoni hit the ball for six ending our wait for the World Cup :)

Nicely Written post - Though you are back to your messy editing :P Love the new feel of the blog

    GO and ROCK GIRL \m/
