VeLLoRe VoYaGe!! (Day 2)

Image
Now we all were in the normal stage…I got up early and then…woke up all…and further…all set we went to commence the sessions of the day…again…the first half…we understood few things but not all coz still we just knew few basics about the theme…we kept gazing at people just and taking 10% of what they told…lunch time…was a mixed reaction thing now…for we merry on getting time off…but were equally pissed off coz of the food…still…being the jolly 4…we din’t let the things go bad for us… Afternoon…a session on one my favorite thing…literature search…and a great deal learnt of it...new stuffs like Zotero and all came to light...indeed Vasu Ma'am can be considered to be a biggest literature search expert in India... But an evening lecture by an Australian doctor, journalist…real cliché of the day…the way he spoke…the way he conducted the talk…the inspiration he gave us…actually imprinted a mark of awareness in our minds which did become the talk for the rest of the day… When we wer

Commercializing FAITH!!!

Just got back from a pilgrim place after a day’s outing…and exhausted!!! But was shocked by an issue… Everyone loves GOD….everyone has a faith in GOD…n to show this credence is why we go to his feet…a pilgrim place…visit him n tell…yup…we trust you…for being there always…just besides me… But...today what I witnessed…shattered my belief… Luxury lovers…have found a way out even in worshipping the deity in an easy way…and the “Pundits”…messengers in their own accord…are capitalizing this… I met a Pundit who had his visiting card…with the name, address and contact number…you call him…tell him about your coming there…and about the ritual you wish to perform…he’ll arrange all…n even your stay plus food…and take surplus amounts of cash from you for this…from what I estimated…he earns more than 2000 a day…that’s more than a common middle class person’s salary…even there had been some kinda offer special for the festivals…and pamphlets printed to convey so…n this is not the case with on

Being new to the place…we took time to get accustomed to getting up early for we had to be at the Scudder Auditorium at the daybreak…and to add to it…we are all nocturnal…so it was a big task for us…still I managed getting up somehow…and then waking all up…one by one…that day the registration was suppose to start at 7.30 in the morning…and we reached there at around 8.30 I guess; traversing a nice long route through the campus…we went to see no movements as such depicting that a conference was held there…funniest of all…we went to no other but PSM dept…now that was LOLZ…finally we reached the grand auditorium…and…there were no delegate IDs for us…on table 1…so we searched for them and finally got them on some other table…and entered… 1 st day…and no orientation…both worked synergistically to make us sit almost blank in the 1 st half of the day…we did nothing except looking at those big people whom our medical fraternity considers next to the holy God…the introduction by Dr.Prathap

Evening 8.10 p.m….a boy playing badminton…carefree about the future…as the train he was suppose to board on was late night…but then…came a call…screen beeping “Amrita”… saying…”Oye Goral nahi aa rahi”…call 2…”Swati” on waiting…on picking up says…”Uncle bhi nahi maan rahe”…and the final call…”Azhar tu Nagpur aa jaa”… Now this boy was as you all might have got is Azhar…the only guy who showed up some courage to accompany us i.e. myself (Goral), Swati and Amrita for the Vellore Voyage… Actually our train was scheduled to departure at 12.30 p.m. on 9 th January 2010…but following IST…it was almost 15 hours late…and since I was suppose to board from my hometown i.e. Nagpur…my dad decided on not letting me go alone in the train so late night…plus tickets were with me…and so for all the journey started at 4 a.m. on 10 th …but one…for Azhar it was 8.45 p.m. when he caught the bus for Nagpur…just to accompany me… And the true trip for the Symposium commenced on 10 th …when all of us were
