VeLLoRe VoYaGe!! (Day 1)
Being new to the place…we took time to get accustomed to getting up early for we had to be at the Scudder Auditorium at the daybreak…and to add to it…we are all nocturnal…so it was a big task for us…still I managed getting up somehow…and then waking all up…one by one…that day the registration was suppose to start at 7.30 in the morning…and we reached there at around 8.30 I guess; traversing a nice long route through the campus…we went to see no movements as such depicting that a conference was held there…funniest of all…we went to no other but PSM dept…now that was LOLZ…finally we reached the grand auditorium…and…there were no delegate IDs for us…on table 1…so we searched for them and finally got them on some other table…and entered…
1st day…and no orientation…both worked synergistically to make us sit almost blank in the 1st half of the day…we did nothing except looking at those big people whom our medical fraternity considers next to the holy God…the introduction by Dr.Prathap Tharyan was the only thing I remember…others though were giving their best…all went hyperbolically above our heads…the reason…we didn’t have any idea of anything whatsoever…
Then came the best time of the day…the lunch time…but…that was kinda problem for us…packed food and that too not suiting our taste buds…personally I cannot actually take packed food but then…no other option was known to us then…at least me and Ajgad had it…but Sota and more Amu…couldn’t have it at all…..we went inside gloomy…back for getting another parallel line to our head…but no…that was a session for us…we newcomers…no knowledge people…introduction of the Evidence Based Medicine…man…it was awesome…understandable importantly…2 hours of something for us…finally we started reaping something of the tour…
Evening…we were shown the martial art form “Kalaripayatu”…a form from kerela…was one treat to eyes…hats off to those who actually did that act of bravery…and the day was called off…
Dinner was not a part of the conference…and so…we took food outside…in the Vellore city…going there was fun…in the bus…Rs.3 per head…and cool songs…though we din’t understand a single word…but the beats were…foot tapping…reaching the place, we started on our expedition to search for a food place…and in some gully…we found a Punjabi hotel…sitting in we couldn’t stop smiling on getting to have some good food…in true terms…we are big foodies…and after the food even we called it a day…coz of the exhaustion of two days…much needed sleep was hovering on us all except Sota…
Vellore was good.. I miss it too..
