Reality Face OFF!!!
“Sure God created man before woman, but then you always make a rough draft before the final masterpiece.”
I am not making a point about women being superior, but I pity the plight of females in the society. There has surely been an uplifting of the society much beyond the expectations. Still we lack a bit. That bit is the equal rights. Officially it’s all equal, fair and square. But in reality it is NOT.
An age old custom followed which I kind of dislike is the “Ladki Dekhne aana” show. We, the girls, are not a show piece to be displayed. Ofcourse this custom done ethically makes a bit sense, but through and through insulting girls by making them walk and asking them to talk just to make sure they are fine altogether. Guys are seldom asked to do all this. Moreover, these boys, however dumb they might look (it’s not about all but a few) have hi-fi demands with the girls. “They should be fair, tall, blah blah”. Why?? Have the dark complexioned girls done anything wrong?? Somehow this mentality needs a massive change.
As the society comprises of both sexes equally, so is the case with here. Not just men, but women themselves do injustice to their likes. I was in a state of shock just few days back when a random woman made some real demented statements.
“I will only give birth a baby boy and not a girl. And if my husband wants a gal, ask him to go and adopt one.”
C’mon now. If at all her mother came up with that idea, was she going to thrive even? And to add to the info she has been like a real pampered brat of her mother.
Another case where a friend of mine met with an accident and had a fractured hand with pretty major bruising on face. I came to know that and called up her sister as early as I could. As soon as I told her, she replied
“I hope she’s fine.”
I was so shattered on the second statement. Did that make any sense? Was she the one who bruised her face intently? Wasn’t her life more important? She din’t have any major injury and that should be something to be happy of rather than being sad for a minor bruise. And how does that matter? Will that bruise change her nature and her way of being?
I just wanted to poke this much known issue of the society again. Is it so tough treating a female as she should be? Do bear this into the minds that it is a woman who carried you to life. It is her efforts more than anyone else’s that made you do anything good in life. It is a woman who survives all hardships just to make sure you survive in leisure. If a man has a belief that it’s all good coz of him, do sneak behind you, there’s a woman standing, may be that’s a mother, a sister or a wife.
And for all the women who disregard their own sex, Respect WOMANHOOD ladies. It’s a boon you have got. A woman who has her own adoration only can make the society have that repute for you.
They say this is in practice in the lower strata of the society who are uneducated. But trust me friends, this is prevalent equally in all the strata. Do pass on the good word. A plea!
very true!
ReplyDeletethey say ki these rituals are not considered nowadays..but still somewhere somehow its happening!!
