Heads and Tails
Usually talking the way they use to, he
came up with a strange statement,
“I don’t think it’s working anymore.”
Bowled over she was. It had been 6 years
of love they shared. Things didn’t seem to be right in last few months but she
thought may be work is loading over him. Late night overtimes at office and
boss nagging all the time made it tough to maintain composure always. She
comprehended the problem and also took it sportingly. No matter if he does not
talk to me, but I know he loves me, is what she kept repeating to herself.
But these words turned the World upside-
down to her. “Was I wrong somewhere?”, “Has there been a mistake in me
listening?” Questions baffled her. He had disconnected the phone and these
spectaculations meant nothing at all. This was the moment’s truth. She din’t
know the answers to anything which came to her.
Genuinely,
it hardly takes a moment to mend a life. It hardly takes a moment to break the
same. Sometimes you don’t know and things are different. Sometimes you don’t
expect and things are weird. Sometimes it just means nothing and it’s all
changed.
Relations are an interesting spectrum. It
though looks strong but in reality it is just a simple tender string attached.
It becomes tough when the two attached want it that way. Any end of the string
wishes to withdraw, the cord falls lame and eventually falls off. That’s what
“Taali do haath se bajti hai” implies.
On occasions, a gap in understanding becomes
the rudimentary cause of breech in the bond. Two people talking, knowing each other since
years and really good friends till date. One is busy with something while he’s
talking and somehow took no notice of what the other told him. That thing meant
a life to the other but it couldn’t come up that easily to the one. The other
gets annoyed and keeps getting rude. One is unable to figure out the problem
and keeps asking about it. But the other is not budging in at all. And slowly
the rift grows coz even the one gets fatigued of the other pestering.
I say… talk about it clearly. At times
people cannot exactly palpate the emotions and talks. They need clarity of
thoughts. And if you know that one is just the best friend of yours, you have
rights to get angry and tell exactly what you wanted from him. That’s how the
bond strengthens. And soon he’ll know what you meant even by looking into the
eyes.
Maintaining and breaking are just like
two sides of the same coin. Situations come up and toss this coin up in the
air. But this coin had a special property of being ruled by the hearts. It will
come fall down as what the person wants. If the heart says “the person’s
important”, it will fall HEADS high. If the heart says, “vindication”, it will
fall at the TAIL end.
Choice is all ours.
Genuinely, it hardly takes a moment to mend a life. It hardly takes a moment to break the same.
