For my First Love... SRK!!!

October 1995, I was hardly 7. A movie made waves; an on-screen couple was in news. I almost fought with my dad to watch it. Barely had I known that this was the star who will be my first love EVER.

1997, I was 9. A musical and a trio with the king of romance, a gala music that was, songs that made us tap feet. That was when I noticed his aura.

1998, I was 10 and a bit mature. A debutant director and his favorite actors on the block came out with a new definition of love, “Pyaar Dosti Hai”; and here I was, truly, madly and deeply in love the King of Bollywood, SHAHRUKH KHAN!

There has been something uniquely special about him. He exuberates a magnanimous persona. Not that he looks dashing and hot, but he is lovable, likeable like anything. His dimples have been something to die for. His face so cute, his hair so nice and his smile just so awesome. Everything about him has been perfect, perfect for all those who are maaaad about him.

None made me love like he did, none taught me love like he did. No one could show that romance like he did. Also I guess none could coach like he did! Every role he has essayed that I have loved has been just the best. The words fall short for my expression of what I feel for him.

It was back before my college years at home, never did I miss any Television appearance by this King. Every interview, every TV show visit and anything that had him in was a no other channel time for my parents and then they kept mocking me day and night. But that din’t keep me away from his shows. Those shows gave me a sneak peek in his life and realized he is a great person too. A someone who rose from ashes to become the phoenix to become a star. A someone who had slept on platforms now gets a bed of roses to walk on. A someone who although being a superstar still has not lost his root values. A someone who is a SUPERSTAR on pedestal and walks a COMMONER on ground.

His movies have always been larger than life. I would say he had luck in his favour for him to get to best directors and the best of cinema world. I skip a beat even today when I watch his introduction in the movie K3G. What grandeur that was. He has made me cry everytime he cried. Seeing him on deathbed, I have had one of the worst feelings I could get ever in my life. He had made me live with him in every movie. He has always been my love and I have no second thoughts about it.

But this perfect man has a queen. That one female, who has been a reason for envy for so many of his fans. Gauri Khan, the lady. She is indeed lucky coz he has been loving this lady like anything. With 2 proud kids at bay, they are one of the best couples in Bollywood.

He has a fan following in India no doubt, but his lovers overseas can still be a competition for us here. He has grown enough to have fans almost equivalent or say more than even Tom Cruise.

For me he is and will be my first love. For me he will be someone who taught me how to love. For me he will be someone who puts up his own style and makes people crazy for that. For me he will be someone who can carry out Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge equivalent to Swades and also Chak De India!

For me he is a STAR who makes my heart beat. As a kid I always stated that I live a third of my life in his love. And even today I stand by that. On his birthday, I just want to make a wish that all his dreams come true and may Allah give him more and more and more.
