WORLD CUP PANDEMIC!!


It was just last year that we had seen an EPIDEMIC called FIFA World Cup… But 2011 is witnessing something very explicit… very extravagant… the frenzy that’s infecting all… ICC CWC 2011… being held in the Indian Sub-continent… And the last two matches played n WON by INDIA have added to the severity of this infection…
In India… CRICKET by far is the most superior religion ever seen on Earth… The players are treated as God and the God is the ultimate end stop for all the prayers related… The way people pray for the results to be good for anything is nothing compared to what everyone prays when it’s INDIA in the field… Right from the 7 year old to 70 years old, everyone is glued to the television sets when there’s a match played… Everyone’s more concerned about the wickets then their health … Sleep, Hunger… nothing…n literally nothing can come in way between cricket…
And in the last two matches… The Atmosphere… The Pressure… nerve wrecking…
1st match… INDIA vs AUSTRALIA… everyone just remembered the 2003 WC when they were the only team who defeated us in the whole series… and so the match became important … defeating them was the penultimate goal… to take revenge of the loss we suffered… the roads looked all deserted… the works all on a stand-still… n those who couldn’t watch it were cursing their bosses like anything… With every four or six we hit it was a party moment… every wicket we lost, it felt as though a loved one was lost… the pressure was so palpable off the field that I cannot even think about the pressure the players must be feeling… The match was a close tie till the end… and it was YUVRAJ who got the Glory with RAINA home… it was just an amazing experience…
2nd Encounter… even the WC final doesn’t hold much significance when it is INDIA vs PAKISTAN… it’s not just cricket but the paramount clash… clash of the neighbours… that feeling is different… that match is different… it’s not just in INDIA or PAK… but all over the World this battle is the most looked up to… people left their work all before the match… the roads today seemed as it is a curfew declared in the whole nation… All… and actually all were cemented to TVs… the sick, the busy, the non-interested… literally all… I had never seen the TV room so tucked up with people that there was no place for people left after sometime… With every ball there was a roar… could be a happy one, could be an angry one… every wicket we lost meant a massive silence… when Sachin’s wicket was taken up … it was an emotional moment… Cries and sadness… The GOD was taken up n that too by Afridi… added to the grievances… it was not a big total at the end… but the hopes never lost… coz the players knew it that the Whole NATION is there praying just for this win… and the prayers were answered by the Bowling line up… Wonderful stuff… great line and length by the sorcerers … with such an electrifying match, how can we actually leave the screen and go anywhere… INDIA WON!!!
The World seemed to stop there… it was an emotion filled moment… we could do nothing but scream on top of voices… roam around on roads just to celebrate this triumph… happiness was so evident that it seemed as though the curfew in the noon was lifted up to just let all the country men to be on the roads and feel the PRIDE for the MOTHER NATION…
It’s just a step more to proclaim the CUP for us… coz this year, it’s the gut feel that the ICC CWC 2011 is suppose to be OURS… INDIA will rock and that we know… every single soul in here is praying and hoping that Dhoni  & Co. do it for us and moreover for the GOD… Let’s gift this WORLD CUP to the wizard of Cricket, SACHIN RAMESH TENDULKAR… We want 1983 to be repeated this time… We want Wankhede Stadium to go ablaze with the victorious cries by Indians… We want the whole World to witness the spectacular show of INDIA winning… We want the TIGERS to win on the LIONS, the Lankans…
C’MON INDIA… GO FOR IT!!! 2nd April 2011 should become HISTORY!!

An Art of Being Apart

Oh the pain of this distance! It keeps you apart but strengthens your soul! Not many can understand this trouble and I hope not many are going through it. Distances make you grow fond, but at the cost of that one thing, distance. Well the story goes; I fell in love with this amazing amazing man who incidentally stays miles away. Love! A feeling indescribable! Have been a big movie buff and romances being favorite. Have grown up to them, the Bollywood songs, beautiful locations and superlative dialogues which make you fall in love. No doubt Shahrukh is my favorite.
